[브레이크뉴스=박찬호 기자] 경상남도교육청은 2일 창원컨벤션센터에서 경남미래교육지구 관계자, 교직원, 학부모, 전국 마을 교육 활동가 등 100여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘지역 생태 자산을 활용한 배움터 확장’을 주제로 2024년 마을 교육 공동체 활성화 공개 토론회를 개최했다.
이번 토론회는 지속 가능한 지역 교육 협력 체제를 구축하기 위한 의제를 선정해 기조 발표, 주제 발표, 모둠 토론, 종합 토론 순으로 마을 교육 공동체를 활성화하는 방안을 자유롭게 논의했다.
기조 발제자로 나선 공주대학교 양병찬 교수는 지속 가능한 삶을 위한 지역 생태계 확장 방안을 제시했다. 이어 4명의 주제 발표자는 ▲지역 생태 자산에 기반한 마을 교육 활성화 ▲학교-마을공동체-주민자치회 연계 마을 교육 ▲지속 가능한 삶을 위한 지역 문제 해결 프로젝트 운영 ▲지역 생태 자산과 행복마을학교 연계 운영을 주제로 지역 생태 자산 활용 사례를 발표했다.
모둠 토론에서는 전국에서 참여한 마을 교육 공동체 관계자들의 지역 활동을 소개하고 마을 교육 공동체의 활성화를 위해 개인과 기관이 할 수 있는 일을 토의했다.
또 마을 교육 활동 경험을 공유하며 네트워크를 형성하고, 지역 생태 자산을 활용한 지속 가능한 지역사회의 발전 방안에 대해 생각과 지혜를 모으는 종합 토론으로 마무리했다.
김보상 학교혁신과장은 “지역 생태 자산을 활용한 마을 교육 공동체 활성화의 중심이 될 것으로 기대한다”며, “마을 교육 공동체 정책의 현주소를 살펴 미래교육을 상상하고, 토론회에서 나온 여러 의견을 모아 마을 교육 공동체가 함께 성장하는 정책을 수립하도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
