이번 조례 개정에 따라 경주시는 도시가스 공급관 공사 시 수요가부담 시설분담금의 80% 이하 최대 300만원까지 지원하던 보조금 규모를 최대 400만원으로 상향할 수 있게 됐다. 이는 경북 시·군 중 최고 수준이다.
특히 이번 조례 개정으로 ‘단독주택 도시가스 공급사업’을 위한 예산 4억원을 추가로 확보할 수 있게 됨에 따라, 전체 사업비를 10억원으로 높여 도시가스 공급을 확대할 방침이다.
경주시는 2011년부터 지난해까지 사업비 28억원을 투입해 1984세대에 도시가스를 공급한 바 있다.
경주시는 이번 조치로 주민들의 연료비 부담을 덜어주고 주거환경을 개선하는 데 크게 기여할 것으로 기대하고 있다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “이번 조례 제정을 토대로 도시가스 소외지역 주민의 연료비 경감과 주거환경 개선 등 에너지 복지 향상을 위해 행정력을 집중하겠다”고 강조했다.

Gyeongju City expands subsidies for city gas supply business

Gyeongju City expects that this measure will greatly contribute to easing the burden of fuel costs on residents and improving the residential environment.
Gyeongju Mayor Joo Nak-young emphasized, “Based on the enactment of this ordinance, we will focus our administrative power to improve energy welfare, including reducing fuel costs and improving residential environments for residents in areas underprivileged by city gas.”
