나토(NATO·북대서양조약기구) 정상회의 참석차 미국 워싱턴DC를 방문한 윤석열 대통령이 10일(현지시간) 올라프 숄츠 독일 총리와의 정상회담을 시작으로 릴레이 양자회담에 들어갔다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오전 워싱턴DC 월터 E. 워싱턴 컨벤션센터에서 올라프 총리와 만나 "만나 매우 반갑다"며 인사를 건넨 후 악수하고 본격 회담에 돌입했다.
회담엔 옌스 플뢰트너 외교안보보좌관·치아 레나르트 내각 수석·알렉산더 에벨 과장·스테펜 헤베스트라이트 연방정부 대변인(사무차관)·한스 외르그 데트레프센 사령관·알렉산더 발라우 과장·장호진 국가안보실장, 김태효 국가안보실 제1차장·조태열 외교부 장관·대통령실 박춘섭 경제수석·이도운 홍보수석·이충면 외교비서관 등이 함께 했다.
윤 대통령은 이날 저녁까지 캐나다·네덜란드·스웨덴·체코·핀란드·일본·노르웨이·영국 등과 잇따라 양자회담을 진행한다는 계획이다.
특히 이날 기시다 후미오 일본 총리와 약 한 달 반만에 다시 만나 한·일 정상회담을 갖고 러·북 간 군사협력 밀착에 따른 역내 안보 관련 대화를 나눌 것으로 보인다.
