대통령실이 24일 북한에서 날려 보낸 오물 풍선이 청사 내에서 다수 발견돼 긴급 조치에 나선 가운데 위험·오염성은 없는 것으로 확인됐다.
대통령실 청사 인근에 오물 풍선이 떨어진 적은 있으나 청사 내에서 발견된 건 이번이 처음이다.
앞서 북한은 이날 오전부터 대남 오물 풍선을 재차 살포하며 10번째 풍선 도발에 나선 가운데 일부가 용산 대통령실 청사 내까지 들어온 것으로 보인다.
대통령실은 이날 오전 청사 내에 낙하된 북한 오물 풍선을 발견하고 개수 파악 및 내용물 확인 등 조치를 진행한 가운데 대통령경호처가 처리 작업을 완료했다.
대통령경호처는 "북한이 부양한 대남 쓰레기 풍선을 합참과의 공조를 통한 모니터링 중 용산청사 일대서 낙하 쓰레기를 식별했다"며 "화생방 대응팀 조사 결과 물체 위험·오염성이 없는 걸로 확인돼 수거했고, 합참과의 공조하에 지속 모니터링 중에 있다"고 밝혔다.
