윤석열 대통령 부인 김건희 여사가 6일 윤 대통령 여름휴가 기간 중 별도로 부산을 비공개 깜짝 방문했다.
대통령실에 따르면 김 여사는 이날 오후 5시께 부산 중구 깡통시장을 찾아 상인들을 격려하고 물품을 구매한 가운데 휴가철 인파·시민 편의를 고려해 수행 인원은 최소화한 채 종용한 행보로 진행됐다.
김 여사는 시장에 약 1시간 가량 머물며 마늘·대추·찐옥수수 등 식품과 의류 등을 구매한 가운데 상인들에게 "장사가 잘 되시나" "날도 더운데 건강을 챙겨가며 하시라. 장사가 잘 됐음 좋겠다"고 인사하고, 시민들에겐 "전통시장을 많이 찾아달라"고 당부한 것으로 알려졌다.
시장 상인·시민들은 시장을 깜짝 방문한 김 여사를 보고 악수를 청하는 등 환영한 것으로 전해진 가운데 사진 촬영을 요청하는 상인들과 함께 기념사진을 찍었다.
김 여사는 시장 방문에 앞서 오후 4시 30분께 부산 대표 수산물 명란을 활용한 캐릭터 상품·음식 메뉴를 개발하는 '명란브랜드연구소'를 찾아 "지역 대표 음식 명란을 캐릭터 상품화해 인형·양말 등을 만들어 판매하는 좋은 사례"라며 "이런 식으로 관광상품을 많이 개발하면 내수 활성화에도 큰 도움 될 것"이라고 격려했다.
그러면서 "음식뿐 아닌 캐릭터를 활용한 굿즈 개발 등 초량 특산물 명란을 알리기 위한 다양한 시도와 노력이 인상 깊다"며 "부산이 명란 중심지이자 원조란 점이 널리 알려지길 바라며 여기서 개발한 명란어묵이 부산을 대표하는 먹거리로 거듭나길 바란다"고 했다.
김 여사는 직원들과 명란 캐릭터를 들고 사진을 촬영하고, 방명록엔 '어묵과 명란을 콜라보한 동구특화상품 명란어묵 짱, 최고'라고 썼다.
대통령실 관계자는 "김 여사는 평소에도 주변에 부산은 6·25 전쟁에서 대한민국을 지켜낸 보루며 피난민을 품어준 곳이자 우리가 전쟁 상흔을 딛고 성장할 수 있었던 원동력을 제공한 어머니의 도시라고 말했다"고 전했다.
