브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 넥슨은 창의적인 코딩 교육 환경 조성을 위한 무료 블록코딩 플랫폼 ‘헬로메이플(HelloMaple)’을 2일 정식 출시했다고 밝혔다.
‘헬로메이플’은 메이플스토리 IP의 풍부한 리소스와 콘텐츠를 활용해 학생들이 쉽고 재미있게 기초 코딩 원리를 학습할 수 있도록 돕는 블록코딩 플랫폼이다.
넥슨은 지난해 헬로메이플의 베타 버전으로 선보인 ‘MSW EDU(메이플스토리 월드 에듀케이션)’에 학습 관리 시스템(LMS) 기능을 새롭게 추가하고, 블록코딩 만들기 화면 디자인을 개편하여 서비스 이용자의 편의와 사용자 경험을 개선했다.
헬로메이플은 다양한 게임 환경 요소를 활용하여 코딩 교육에 대한 접근성과 흥미도를 효과적으로 높였다. 이용자들은 옷, 헤어, 얼굴 등의 무료 리소스를 활용해 본인만의 개성과 취향이 반영된 아바타를 꾸밀 수 있으며, 자신이 제작한 월드(콘텐츠)를 출시할 수 있다.
넥슨이 제공하는 공식 월드로는 ‘피해야 산다!’, ‘우리 학교 숨은 그림 찾기’, ‘맞춰봐! O/X 퀴즈’ 등 리메이크가 가능한 다양한 장르의 콘텐츠들이 준비됐다. 특히, 현직 선생님들이 직접 제작한 ‘두더지를 잡아라’, ‘고기 갖다주기’ 등 100종 이상의 미니게임 월드도 체험할 수 있다.
헬로메이플은 현직 선생님들과 협업해 교육 현장의 수요를 반영한 실용적인 학습 도구 기능인 학습 관리 시스템(LMS)도 제공한다. 선생님 회원으로 가입 시 학급 개설 및 관리, 학생 계정 생성, 일반 계정 학급 내 초대 등의 기능을 이용할 수 있으며 과제 부여 및 평가도 가능하다.
넥슨은 현재 이용 가능한 PC 클라이언트 버전에 더해 블록코딩 웹 버전 출시를 위한 연구개발 중으로 언제 어디서나 이용자들이 쉽게 접근할 수 있도록 플랫폼의 접근성을 더욱 강화해 나갈 계획이다. 나아가 다양한 공식 월드 템플릿을 주기적으로 업데이트해 개인별 취향에 맞춘 콘텐츠를 쉽고 빠르게 제작하며 학생들의 창의력을 촉진하고 학습 동기를 부여할 수 있도록 지원할 예정이다.
넥슨은 헬로메이플의 정식 론칭을 기념해 오는 22일까지 체험 후기를 작성하는 이벤트를 공식 홈페이지에서 진행한다. 헬로메이플을 다운로드해 회원가입 후 서비스를 체험하고 구글폼을 통해 후기와 응원글을 작성한 이용자에게는 추첨을 통해 백화점 상품권, 헬로메이플 굿즈 키트, 배스킨라빈스 기프티콘 등의 경품을 지급한다.
