[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시가 산림청이 주관하는 ‘2025년 대한민국 정원산업박람회’ 개최지로 최종 선정됐다고 5일 밝혔다.
정원산업박람회는 한국을 대표하는 정원산업 문화행사로 지난 2022년 세종시, 지난해 순천만국제 정원박람회와 함께 순천시, 올해는 서울시 뚝섬한강공원에서 행사가 진행되고 있다.
진주시는 수원, 천안, 충주, 춘천, 전주, 부산과 함께 경선에 참여해 지난 7월 30일 공모 신청, 지난달 29일 산림청에서 주제 발표 후 심사 평가를 거쳐 2025 개최지로 최종 선정됐다.
2025 대한민국 정원산업박람회는 내년 6월 초전공원에서 ‘정원과 함께하는 삶:생활 속 실용정원’을 주제로 ‘월아산 숲속의 진주 수국축제’와 연계해 10일간 개최된다.
진주시는 시민과 함께 축제 분위기 속에서 박람회를 치를 수 있도록 다양한 분야의 시민사회 구성원들과 함께 행사를 준비하고, 지역 내 정원산업 발전으로 연결시킬 방침이다.
