[브레이크뉴스경기남부=평택 이현준기자] 평택시국제교류재단은 몽골 전통 스포츠(샤가이 하르와) 대회를 지원했다.
평택시국제교류재단은 2023년부터 내외국인의 소통 강화와 지역사회 참여를 위해 외국인 커뮤니티 사업을 모집 선정해 국가별 행사 및 축제 등 문화행사를 지원하고 있다.
샤가이 하르와 대회는 양의 복사뼈로 만든 뼛조각을 손가락으로 튕겨 과녁을 맞히는 전통놀이로 참가하는 선수들은 수공예로 만든 도구와 장비를 개인별로 소장하며, 자신만의 경기복을 입고 참가한다.
특히 이 스포츠는 2014년 세계문화유산에도 등재됐으며, 나담 축제(몽골전통축제)의 정식 종목으로 채택되기도 했다.
지난 8일 열린 행사는 송탄국제교류센터에서 개최해 평택시뿐만 아니라 전국에 거주하는 주한 몽골인 200여 명이 대회를 즐기기 위해 참석했다.
평택시국제교류재단은 대회에 참석한 주한 몽골 대사관 관계자 및 몽골인을 대상으로 외국인과의 우호적인 상호 공감대 형성을 지원하는 평택시와 재단을 홍보했다.
대회에 참석한 몽골 관계자는 “우리 몽골인의 단합을 도모하고, 전통 스포츠를 통해 고향의 향수를 평택에서 느낄 수 있게 해준 것에 평택시국제교류재단에 감사하다”며 소감을 전했다.
평택시국제교류재단 정종필 대표이사는 “올해 외국인 커뮤니티 지원사업은 일본과 몽골이 선정돼 각각 봉사활동과 스포츠 대회 운영에 지원하고 있으며, 앞으로도 많은 외국인의 안정적인 지역 정착에 도움이 될 수 있도록 여러 방면에서 최선을 다하겠다”고 전했다.
