[브레이크뉴스경기남부=시흥 이현준기자] 시흥시가 제25회 시흥시 사회복지의 날 기념식을 개최했다.
지난 10일 시청 늠내홀에서 시흥시사회복지협의회가 주관한 기념식에는 임병택 시흥시장과 오인열 시흥시의회 의장을 비롯한 시의원 및 도의원, 사회복지기관ㆍ단체장 및 관내 사회복지종사자 등 300여 명이 참석했다.
기념식은 축하공연, 사회복지사업 윤리 선언문 낭독, 기념사 및 축사, 제1회 시흥시 사회복지대상 및 사회복지 유공자 표창 등이 진행됐다.
사회복지의 날(9월 7일)은 국민기초생활보장제도 시행(1999년 9월 7일)을 기념해 사회복지에 대한 국민의 이해를 돕고, 사회복지 종사자의 자긍심을 고취하기 위해 지정된 법정기념일이다.
특히 시는 올해 처음으로 시흥시 사회복지대상을 신설해 리은주 목감지역아동센터장에게 시상했다. 리은주 센터장은 1996년부터 시흥시 자원봉사단체협의회장 및 자원봉사 관련 대표를 역임하며 시흥시 자원봉사의 기반을 다졌으며, 2003년부터 2022년까지 시흥시사회복지협의회장을 역임해 시흥시 복지 향상에 헌신한 공로로 대상 수상의 영예를 안았다.
또한, 지역 복지 발전에 헌신한 사회복지 유공자 36명에게 표창장이 수여됐으며, 사회복지종사자들의 사기 진작과 노고를 격려하기 위해 부르자 어울림 합창단(시흥장애인종합복지관), 보살핌 차차차(보살핌재가노인복지센터), 시흥시사회복지공무원 최태양, 시흥시립합창단, 시흥시 홍보대사(제이보이스) 등의 다양한 공연이 진행돼 행사의 흥을 돋웠다.
