브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 국내에 체류 중인 외국인 유학생 10명 중 8명 이상이 졸업 후 한국 취업을 희망하고 있다는 조사 결과가 나왔다. K-팝, K-푸드, K-뷰티, K-콘텐츠 인기에 이어 이제는 ‘K-커리어’ 시대가 온 것이다.
19일 잡코리아에 따르면 현재 국내에 거주 중인 외국인 유학생 155명을 대상으로 조사한 결과, 유학생 86.5%가 ‘현재 한국에서 취업을 알아보는 중(41.9%)’이거나 ‘알아볼 계획(44.5%)’인 것으로 조사됐다. 특히, 이들 중 11.6%는 ‘이미 한국에서 일자리를 얻어 취업에 성공한 것’으로 나타났다.
반면, ‘한국에서의 취업에 관심이 없다’는 응답은 1.9%로 소수에 불과했다.
외국인 유학생들이 취업을 했거나, 희망하는 분야로는 ‘서비스 분야’가 41.3%로 1위를 차지했다. 다음으로 △교육 분야(32.3%) △판매 분야(24.5%) △IT·정보통신 분야(18.1%) △금융 분야(17.4%) △물류 분야와, 제조 분야가 각각 10.3% 등으로 희망 비율이 높았다.
실제, 이들 외국인 유학생들에게 한국에 처음 입국한 목적에 대해 묻는 질문에서도 유학(81.3%) 외에 취업 자체가 목적이었다는 응답도 22.6%로 적지 않았다.
이어 △한국어 연수(12.9%) △관광(8.4%) △친척이나 지인 방문(2.6%)을 위해 처음 한국에 온 경우가 많은 것으로 조사됐다.
향후 한국에서의 체류 기간은 ‘3~5년 정도’가 36.8%로 가장 많았으며, △5~10년(25.2%) △1~2년(19.4%) △10년 이상도 18.7%로 5명 중 1명 정도에 달했다. 향후 한국 체류 목적 역시도 ‘취업’이 67.7%로 압도적으로 높았다.
취업준비 방법으로는 채용 플랫폼을 통해 직업 정보를 찾는 경우가 60.0%로 가장 높았다. 이어 △학교 취업지원실 등을 통해 (34.8%) △지인 추천을 통해(32.3%) △취업 박람회(25.2%) 등이었다.
하지만, 상대적으로 외국인 구직자들의 경우 한국에서 취업활동을 하는 데 어려움이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 특히, 외국인 채용 공고(43.9%)나 비자를 제공하는 회사정보(42.6%)를 찾기 어렵다는 응답이 많았다.
