[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광명 이현준기자] 광명시가 안양천 초화원에 가족 행복의 꽃을 피웠다.
포켓정원단은 가족정원 조성을 위한 약 6개월의 준비 과정 끝을 통해 지난 21일 안양천 초화원에서 포켓정원단 미니정원 조성 행사를 개최했다.
포켓정원단은 주변환경과 계절에 맞는 다양한 초화와 관목을 심고 가꿔 광명시를 더 아름답게 만들고자 모집된 가족단위 시민 정원사들이다.
지난 2월 공모를 통해 구성된 포켓정원단 9개 팀은 지난 4월부터 약 6개월 동안 매칭된 시민정원사를 통해 각 가족만의 아이디어가 담긴 포켓정원 설계안을 검토받아 왔다. 또한 토론회로 가족별 의견 교환을 거쳐 가족 특화 정원 설계안을 완성했다.
이번 행사에서 포켓정원단은 그 설계안을 토대로 정원식물과 다양한 소품을 이용해 가족별 4㎡ 포켓정원을 조성했다.
회양목으로 울타리를 만들어 달팽이 모양을 표현해 사이사이에 화초를 심은 팀, 장식소품을 중앙에 두고 원형으로 화초를 가꾼 팀, 가족이 좋아하는 흰색, 분홍색, 보라색 꽃으로 정원을 조성한 팀 등 가지각색의 가족 특색을 담은 정원들이 눈길을 끌었다.
포켓정원에 참여한 한 가족은 “매일 산책하는 안양천에 가족과 함께 땀 흘려 정원을 만드는 행복한 추억을 만들어 준 광명시에 감사하다”며 “가족 구성원 모두가 협력해 정원을 만든 의미 있는 시간이었다”고 전했다.
박승원 광명시장은 “가족과 이웃이 함께 정원을 조성하고 가꾸며 즐길 수 있는 기회를 지속적으로 제공하겠다”며 “시민 주도로 도시를 정원으로 아름답게 가꾸는 정원문화를 선도하는 도시로 거듭나겠다”고 밝혔다.
한편, 광명시는 이번에 조성된 미니정원을 내년까지 관리하며 매년 포켓정원단을 모집해 새로운 정원을 조성해 나간다는 계획이다.
