22일 시는 최근 인근지역에서 발생한 가축전염병의 유입을 막기 위해 10월부터 내년 2월까지를 관리 대상으로 고병원성 조류인플루엔자(AI)와 구제역(FMD)대책기간 중 재난안전대책본부와 가축방역상황실을 24시간 가동하면서 이들 바이러스 차단에 주력할 방침이다.
10만수 이상 가금농장에 농장통제초소2곳을 운영하며 농가 방역 실태를 관리하기로 했다. 처인구 백암면에 거점소독시설(1곳)을설치해 오가는차량을 소독하고 9대의 방역차량을 동원해 철새 도래지와 밀집 사육 지역 주변을 수시 소독한다.
또 감염이 의심되는 가축을 조기 발견하기 위해 가금 농가 전담관과 가금 전문 공수의를 파견해 상시로 농가를 예찰하고, 직접 검사를 하면서 전염병 확산 방지에 주력한다.
구제역 확산에 대응하기 위해선 10월 한 달간 소·염소 등 우제류 사육농가를 대상으로 일제 예방접종을 하고, 전염병에 취약한 농가의 방역 실태를 점검해 바이러스 항체 양성율이 낮거나 예방접종을 하지 않은 농장에 과태료를 부과한다.
시는 구제역 바이러스의 농장 간 전파를 차단하도록 10월부터 내년 2월까지 소·돼지 분뇨의 권역 외 이동도 제한한다.
용인특례시에서는 소 사육 농가 272곳에서 1만 6000마리, 돼지 사육 농가 113곳에서 18만마리, 닭 사육 농가 102곳에서 346만 5000마리를 기르고 있다.
