수원시(시장 이재준)가 행궁동 주민자치회와 함께 10월 3일부터 12월까지 ‘행궁동 함께 걷는 거리(구 차 없는 거리)’를 시범 운영한다.
10월 3일부터 12월까지 매주 토·일요일, 공휴일 오후 1~6시 행리단길(화서문로 34번지~정조로 869-1번지 구간)의 차량 통행을 제한해 안전한 보행로를 만든다.
‘행궁동 함께 걷는 거리’는 행궁동 주민자치회에서 제안해 수원시와 함께 운영하는 사업이다. 수원시는 관련기관 협의 등 행정적인 지원을 했다.
지속가능하고 환경친화적인 의미를 담기 위해 기존 ‘차 없는 거리’에서 ‘함께 걷는 거리’로 새로운 명칭으로 변경했다.
수원시와 행궁동 주민자치회는 시범 운영 후 문제점을 개선해 지속해서 운영할 계획이다.
수원시 관계자는 “안전하고 쾌적한 보행문화 확산을 위해 ‘행궁동 함께 걷는 거리’를 시작하게 됐다”며 “행궁동에 방문할 예정인 분들은 대중교통을 이용해 주시길 부탁드린다”고 말했다.
