[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시가 산·학·관 협약을 맺었다.
27일 시는 학생들이 아시아나CC(용인특례시), 화성상록GC(화성시)에 취업할 수 있도록 하는 협약과 동시에 조경이나 골프 관련 학과의 특성화고교 학생들이 용인대학교 골프학과 교수 등의 교육을 받도록 하고 졸업 후 용인대로 진학해 골프와 관련한 공부를 하는 관련 협약과 소식을 전했다.
협약 주체는 용인특례시, 경기도교육청, 용인교육지원청, 용인바이오고등학교, 광주중앙고등학교(경기 광주시), 일죽고등학교(안성시), 용인대학교, 아시아나CC, 화성상록GC(화성시)다.
협약식에는 이상일 용인특례시장과 김희정 용인교육지원청 교육장, 김성진 경기도교육청 진로직업교육과장, 정석진 용인바이오고 교장, 김진양 광주중앙고 교장, 정하창 일죽고 교장, 한진수 용인대학교 총장, 이성우 화성상록GC 대표, 김성현 아시아나CC 차장 등이 참석했다.
협약에 따라 용인대학교와 용인바이오고등학교 등 4개 학교는 교육 교류를 하게 된다. 용인대 교수진이 용인바이오고ㆍ광주중앙고ㆍ일죽고의 조경·골프 관련 학과 학생들에게 특강을 하고, 대학 기자재를 활용한 직업교육이나 실습이 이뤄지도록 한다. 구체적인 교육 과정과 과목 등 세부 내용은 이들 학교가 상호 협의해 정한다.
용인대학교와 화성상록GC, 아시아나CC 등은 골프학과를 실무 중심의 산업 맞춤형 계약학과 교육과정으로 운영하기 위해 협의하고, 다양한 직무 교육을 통해 취업으로 이어지도록 한다.
용인특례시와 경기도교육청, 용인교육지원청은 고등학교와 대학 간 연계 교육과 대학교와 산업체 간 계약학과가 원활하게 진행되는 데 수반되는 각종 행정 지원을 한다.
이상일 시장은 “특성화고 학생들에게 실용적인 산교육을 제공해 진학ㆍ취업에 도움을 주자는 내용의 협약은 새로운 교육 모델을 의미한다”며 “대한민국에서 지방자치단체와 교육청, 대학, 기업 등이 힘을 모아 특성화고 학생들의 진학과 취업을 지원하는 협업모델은 용인특례시가 처음이 아닌가 싶다”고 말했다.
이 시장은 “용인특례시는 용인바이오고의 학과구조 개편 등 발전방안을 학교, 교육청과 긴밀히 협의하면서 학생들에게 꿈과 용기, 희망을 주기 위한 노력을 하고 있다”며 “용인바이오고를 비롯한 광주중앙고, 일죽고 학생들이 미래를 잘 개척해 나가는데 실질적인 보탬이 되도록 서로 힘을 모아 협약 내용을 충실히 이행하면 좋겠다”고 했다.
경기도에는 108개 특성화고가 있지만 2024년도 기준 충원율은 84% 수준으로 매년 정원보다 적은 수의 학생이 입학하는 등 중장기적으로 규모가 줄어들 것으로 전망되고 있다. 이에 시는 지자체와 교육청, 기업, 대학이 힘을 모아 지역 인재를 위한 새로운 진로·진학 연계 사업인 ‘용인형 특성화고 육성모델’을 기획, 그 일환으로 이번 협약을 마련했다.
용인특례시의 노력을 관심 있게 지켜보던 경기 광주시 광주중앙고와 안성시 일죽고가 동참 의사를 밝혔고, 용인특례시로서 이웃 도시 학교도 돕기 위해 이들 학교의 참여를 허용했다.

학과 재구조화를 통해 교육부의 ‘직업계고 재구조화 2.0 지원사업’ 대상으로 선정되면 시설과 설비, 교육 연수 등 학급당 약 3억 7500만원의 예산을 지원받을 수 있다.
이상일 시장은 임태희 교육감과 다양한 지원 방안을 논의했고, 지난해 3월 경기도교육청으로부터 100명 규모의 기숙사 설립을 위한 85억의 예산 지원을 이끌어낸 바 있다.
용인바이오고등학교는 1966년 송전농업고등학교 농업과 3학급으로 시작해 지난 2009년 용인바이오고등학교로 교명을 변경했다. 현재 바이오식품과, 조경디자인과, 레저동물과 등 3개 과에 150여 명이 재학 중이다.
