[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시는 기흥구 동백동 용인미디어센터와 수지구 죽전동 수지환경교육센터가 용인미르아이 공유학교 거점활동공간으로 지정됐다.
이상일 시장은 이날 용인미디어센터에서 김희정 용인교육지원청 교육장으로부터 용인미르아이 공유학교 거점활동공간 인증 현판을 전달 받았다. 수지환경교육센터 현판은 다음 달 2일 전달될 예정이다.
용인미르아이 공유학교는 용인의 풍부한 지역 자원을 활용해 다양한 학습 기회를 제공하는 새로운 유형의 교육 플랫폼인 경기공유학교의 용인 지역 브랜드를 뜻한다.
시가 거점활동공간으로 지정된 시설을 제공하면 교육지원청이 학교와 학생, 학교 밖 청소년 등의 요구를 반영한 맞춤형 교육을 지원하는 방식으로 운영된다.
용인미디어센터는 교육청의 환경 개선 사업 공모에 선정돼 교육용 집기와 기자재 등을 구입할 수 있는 사업비 500만원을 지원받게 됐다.
이상일 시장은 앞서 김 교육장과 27일 시청 시장실에서 용인특례시와 경기도용인교육지원청의 ‘용인미르아이 공유학교 운영 활성화’를 위한 업무협약을 체결하고 공유학교를 통한 미래 인재 양성을 위해 공동 협력키로 했다.
협약안에는 양 기관이 용인미르아이 공유학교 프로그램 운영을 위한 교육활동을 지원하고 미래 역량을 갖춘 인재 양성을 위해 인적·물적 자원을 연계하는 등 협력체계를 마련한다는 내용이 담겼다.
용인미르아이 공유학교의 안정적 학습활동을 지원하기 위해 시는 용인미디어센터와 수지환경센터를 비롯한 거점활동공간을 추가 발굴하는 데 적극 협조하고 지원청은 거점활동공간의 운영을 유지하기 위해 환경 개선 등에 노력한다는 내용도 포함됐다.
이 시장은 “시의 우수한 시설이 학생들에게 특별한 교육 기회를 제공하는 공유학교 거점활동공간으로 지정돼 기쁘다. 학생들이 용인미디어센터에서 증강현실(VR) 체험과 인공지능(AI) 관련 코딩교육을, 수지환경교육센터에선 기후변화에 대한 교육을 받으며 실감나는 학습 기회를 누리기 바란다”며 “학교에서 배우는 교과과정 이외의 다양한 체험을 통해 학생들에게 맞춤형 교육프로그램을 제공하는 공유학교가 활발히 운영되도록 적극 지원하고 협조하겠다”고 말했다.
김 교육장은 ”이번에 거점활동공간으로 지정된 두 곳에서 학생들이 미디어 창작활동과 환경교육 등 양질의 교육을 받을 수 있게 돼 영광으로 생각한다“며 ”앞으로 시의 공공도서관이나 상상의 숲 등 우수 시설이 거점활동공간으로 추가 지정되길 희망하며, 용인미르아이 공유학교가 지역사회와 촘촘한 연결망을 구축하도록 최선을 다하겠다“고 말했다.
