윤석열 대통령이 이시바 시게루 신임 일본 총리와 오는 6일 라오스에서 열리는 아세안(ASEAN·동남아시아국가연합) 정상회의 계기로 한·일 정상회담을 가질 예정이라고 일본 공영 NHK가 3일(현지시간) 보도했다.
지난 1일 일본 제102대 총리에 취임한 이시바 총리는 임시국회 회기 말인 오는 9일 중의원(하원) 해산 후 라오스를 방문해 아세안 정상회의에 참석하는 가운데 여타 각국 정상들과도 가능한 많은 개별 회담을 가질 계획이라고 NHK가 전했다.
NHK는 이시바 총리가 윤 대통령과의 정상회담을 비롯 앤서니 앨버니지 호주 총리와의 양자 회담을 예정하고 있고, 중국 리장 총리·인도 모디 총리와의 회담도 조율 중이라고 전했다. 윤 대통령과 이시바 총리 간 직접 대면은 이번이 처음이다.
NHK는 "이시바 총리는 취임 직후 정상외교를 시작해 지역 평화·안정에 적극 공헌한다는 자세를 보이고 각국 정상과 개인적 신뢰 관계를 구축할 방침"이라고 전했다.
