[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시가 ‘2024년 지역치안협의회’와 ‘제7회 안전문화살롱 정기회의’를 진행했다.
지난 2일 오후 시청 접견실에서 시·교육·경찰·소방 관계기관 합동으로지역치안협의회에서는 이상일 용인특례시장, 김종길 용인동부경찰서장, 김병록 용인서부경찰서장, 안기승 용인소방서장, 김희정 용인교육지원청교육장, 장재구 용인서부소방서장 등 각 기관장을 비롯해 기흥구보건소, 미래도시기획국, 교통정책국 등 시 관계 부서 담당자도 참석해 범죄 예방과 대응을 위한 협력방안 등이 논의됐다.
이상일 시장은 ”용인시 인구가 110만명을 돌파했고 2040 도시 계획은 158만명을 염두에 두고 준비하고 있는데, 인구가 늘어나면 치안 수요도 늘어날 수 밖에 없다“며 ”치안 문제를 경찰에만 부담시킬 것이 아니라 유관기관이 예방 및 대처에 있어서 협력을 강화해 나가야 한다“고 강조했다.
협의회에서는 범죄를 예방하고 대응 체계를 확립하기 위해 경찰에서 추진 중인 과제를 공유하고 각 기관별 협조 사항에 대해 협의했다.
논의 안건으로는 ▲용인시 정신장애 응급입원 병상 확보 ▲중독관리통합지원센터 개소 추진 ▲방범 CCTV 교체·설치 확대 ▲고령자 교통사고 예방 시설 정비 ▲지능형교통시스템(ITS) 확충 ▲주요 치안이슈 중점 홍보 등이다.
이 시장은 ”경찰이 야간에 순찰 등의 활동을 할 때 정신장애인과 만나면 보호를 위한 조치를 하는데 평균 3시간 30분 가량 걸려 치안 공백이 생길 수 있다는 우려를 듣고 시의 예산 제약이 있더라도 꼭 도와드려야겠다는 생각을 했다"며 "내년에 예산 2억원을 투입해서 용인에 용인시민만을 위한 정신장애 응급입원 병상을 확보하겠다“고 말했다.
협의회에서는 최근 문제가 되고 있는 분양사기, 투자사기, 보이스 피싱 등에 대해 시민들에게 사기 수법과 피해 사례 등을 알려 경각심을 높일 수 있도록 각 기관 소식지, SNS 등을 활용해 집중 홍보하기로 했다.
