[브레이크뉴스경기남부=시흥 이현준기자] 시흥시지속가능발전협의회(공동대표 김주석ㆍ임병택ㆍ오인열)가 주최하는 ‘2024 대한민국 지속가능발전대회’가 10월 10일부터 12일까지 사흘간 시흥시 거북섬과 서울대학교 시흥캠퍼스에서 개최된다.
올해로 26회째를 맞이하는 이번 대회는 대한민국 지속가능발전과 시화호 복원 30주년을 기념하며, ‘시화호에서 새롭게 띄우는 미래 거버넌스’를 주제로 진행된다.
이번 대회에서는 정부, 지자체, 전문가, 시민이 모여 지난 30년간의 지속가능발전 노력을 되돌아보고, 지속 가능한 미래를 모색하며 앞으로 30년을 향한 새로운 비전을 제시할 예정이다.
특히 시화호는 ‘생명의 호수로 복원된 상징적인 장소로, 이번 대회의 핵심 주제이자 대한민국 지속가능발전의 대표적인 성공 사례로 중요한 의미를 담고 있다.
