[브레이크뉴스경기남부=광주 이현준기자] (재)광주시문화재단은 ‘아쿠아 천국(Aqua Paradiso)’ 전시를 개최한다.
광주시문화재단은 지난해 10월 시민들의 다양한 문화향유기회를 넓히고 국제적 수준의 문화예술콘텐츠를 제공하기 위해 국립아시아문화전당재단과 업무협약을 체결한바 있다.
국립아시아문화전당은 아시아 문화에 대한 교류·교육·연구 등을 통하여 상호이해를 증진하고 아시아 각국과 함께 동반 성장하고자 설립되어 전 세계의 예술, 인문학, 공학 등 다양한 분야의 참여자들이 경계를 가로지르며 연구, 창작, 제작을 수행하는 국내 최대규모의 국제기관이다. 특히 예술과 기술이 융합하는 AT(Art & Technology)분야에서 아시아를 대표하는 창제작 기관으로 인정받고 있다.
광주시와 국립아시아문홥전당재단은 첫 협력사업을 공동기획전시로 선보이게 되었다. ‘아쿠아 천국’은 물에 관한 전시로 산업혁명 이후 탄소배출이 폭증하고 파괴된 자연(물)에 대한 주제를 다루고 있다.
전시에는 세계적인 미디어아트 창제작 기관인 독일 ZKM을 비롯해 국립현대미술관, 국립아시아문화전당, 부산비엔날레, 영국, 일본, 인도, 아르헨티나 등에서 작품을 선보이며 국제적인 미디어아티스트 활동 중인 리경 작가의 미디어아트 작품과 아티스트이자 기획자, 환경운동가로 다방면에서 활동하며 주목받는 에코오롯의 작품이 전시될 예정이다.
광주시문화재단 기획전시 담당자는 ‘광주는 수도권의 도시들과는 다른 방향에서 미래를 그려가는 도시다. 자연환경 보호를 위한 각종 규제로 개발이 제한되어 신도시개발과 산업단지 유치로 100만 인구를 넘나드는 주변 도시들과 달리 한강 수변환경을 보존하기 위해 자연과 어우러지는 도시발전 계획을 고민하고 있다.
이번 전시는 '광주시의 미래와 같은 방향을 바라보고 있다’고 광주시에서의 전시개최 의미를 설명하며 ‘전 지구적 문제로 등장한 자연환경의 파괴와 이로 인한 기후위기가 미래가 아닌 현재가 되어버린 지금 대상으로의 물(자연)이 아니라 생명의 근원이자 일체임을 자각시키고 스스로의 희생제의를 제안하는 이번 전시는 광주시에서의 관람객들에게 더욱 뚜렷하고 특별한 메시지로 전달될 것이다’라고 밝혔다.
광주시문화재단 오세영 대표는 ‘그동안 해외 유수의 음악인과 오케스트라를 초청해 연주회를 가졌고, 특히 올해는 WASBE 세계관악컨퍼런스 국제행사를 성공적으로 개최해 시민들로부터 호응을 얻었다며, 높아진 시민들의 눈높이에 맞춰 앞으로도 국내외 기관들과 협업해 시민들에게 국제 수준의 문화예술 콘텐츠를 감상하고 누릴 수 있도록 노력하겠다’고 밝혔다.
전시는 10월 24일부터 11월 14일까지 남한산성아트홀 전시실 2에서 무료관람으로 진행되며 사전예약제(자유관람 가능)로 운영되고, 단체관람은 별도문의를 통해 신청할 수 있다.
전시기간 중인 10월 24일과 29일에는 국립아시아문화전당 어린이 공연영상 상영회가 연계행사로 남한산성아트홀 소극장에서 진행되며 국립아시아문화전당 어린이문화원이 직접 기획제작한 <개굴개굴 고래고래>, <마법의 샘>, <세친구>, <괴물 연을 그리다> 총 4편의 공연을 영상으로 관람 할 수 있다.

During the exhibition period, on October 24 and 29, the National Asia Culture Center Children's Performance Video Screening will be held as a related event at the Namhansanseong Art Hall Small Theater.
