용인특례시의회, 문희종 요한 세례자 주교와 만남

[브레이크뉴스경기남부=용인 이현준기자] 용인특례시의회 의원연구단체 '용인, 역사종교문화 여행의 시작'은 수원교구 문희종 요한 세례자 주교와 만남을 가졌다.

지난 10일 수원교구 제2대리구청에서 은이성지의 국제성지 조성 및 용인시 지역종교문화 활성화 방안을 논의했다.

이번 만남에는 김희영 대표를 비롯한 연구단체 회원들, 용인시 관계 공무원, 연구용역 담당자, 수원교구 관계자들이 참석했다.

의원연구단체는 김대건 신부의 지역문화유적을 활용해 용인시 종교문화 및 지역문화 활성화를 위한 그간의 활동을 소개하고, 연구용역 중간결과를 공유했다.

청년 김대건길을 포함한 용인시 종교문화유적 활성화를 위한 연구용역 추진 방향과 보완점에 대한 다양한 의견이 교환됐으며, 은이성지를 국제성지로 조성하기 위한 방안도 함께 논의됐다.

김희영 대표는 ”김대건 신부님의 삶을 재조명한 문화콘텐츠 개발과 더불어, ‘2027년 서울 세계청년대회’ 성공 지원을 위한 기반을 서둘러 마련해야 한다“고 강조하며, ”수원교구와 협력해 은이성지를 국제성지로 만들기 위한 중장기 계획을 수립해 나가겠다“고 밝혔다.

이에 문희종 주교는 ”용인시와 협력해 2027년 서울 세계청년대회를 성공적으로 개최할 수 있도록 교구 차원에서 노력할 것“이라며, “은이성지를 더욱 활성화시킬 수 있는 순례길 개발 및 버스 배치 등은 함께 검토해야할 사안”라고 강조했다.
