윤석열 대통령이 '2024 하반기 재·보궐선거일'인 16일 서울 용산공예관에 마련된 서울시교육감 보궐선거 투표소를 방문해 투표했다고 대통령실이 전했다. 부인 김건희 여사는 동행하지 않았다.
정혜전 대통령실 대변인은 이날 오전 서면브리핑에서 이같은 윤 대통령 10·16 재·보선 투표 사안을 전했다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오전 투표소에 도착해 선거사무원에게 "수고 많으세요. 투표하러 많이 오셨나요?"라고 인사한데 이어 신분증 확인 등 본인 확인 절차를 거친 후 기표소로 이동해 기표하고 투표지를 접어 투표함에 넣었다.
윤 대통령은 현장 참관인들에게 "수고 많으세요"라고 격려 후 투표소를 떠났다.
윤 대통령은 취임 후 치러진 지난 2022년 8회 전국동시지방선거와 올해 22대 국회의원 총선거에서 사전투표한 바 있다.
