[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 22일 경로의 달을 맞아 거창군 실내체육관에서 ‘제28회 노인의 날 기념행사’를 개최했다.
(사)대한노인회 거창군지회가 주관한 이번 행사에는 구인모 군수, 이재운 거창군의회 의장을 비롯한 군의원, 각 경로당 회장, 분회장, 수상자 등 800여 명이 참석해 자리를 빛냈다.
이날 행사는 ‘준비된 인생, 행복한 노후’를 주제로 한 초청 강연을 시작으로, 제28회 노인의 날 기념식, 초청가수 공연 등의 순서로 진행됐다.
특히 기념식에서는 남다른 봉사 정신으로 지역사회와 이웃에 헌신한 어르신들과 노인복지에 기여한 공로자 등 32명에게 보건복지부 장관, 경상남도지사, 군수, 지회장 표창이 수여되어 행사에 의미를 더했다.
신종학 (사)대한노인회 거창군지회장은 “노인복지증진과 경로당 발전에 기여하신 공로로 표창을 받으신 분들께 축하의 말씀을 드린다“며 “오늘 행사가 가족과 나라를 위해 젊음을 바쳐 오신 어르신들이 대한민국 발전에 중요한 역할을 했음을 되새기는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
