브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 대기업 상장사 대표이사들의 자사주 순매수액이 3년째 증가한 것으로 나타났다.
최근 3년간 자사주를 가장 많이 매수한 대표이사는 현재 영풍·MBK파트너스와 경영권 분쟁을 벌이고 있는 최윤범 고려아연 회장으로, 자사주 매입액은 148억원에 달한다. 반대로, 오뚜기 함영준 회장은 상속세 납부를 위해 384억원 규모의 자사주를 매도했다.
23일 CEO스코어에 따르면 국내 매출 상위 500대 기업 중 상장사 266곳에서 2022년부터 2024년(10월 17일 기준)까지 3년 간 재직한 바 있는 대표이사 613명을 대상으로 자사주 취득 및 처분 현황을 조사한 결과, 이들의 자사주 순매수액은 △2022년 -244억8400만원 △2023년 -30억7100만원 △2024년 276억4000만원으로 매년 증가세를 기록했다.
코로나19 엔데믹 후에도 국내 주식시장이 침체기를 벗어나지 못하자 주요 기업 대표이사들이 주주가치 제고와 책임경영 강화 등을 위해 매년 자사주 매입을 늘린 것으로 분석된다.
올해 상장사 대표이사의 자사주 매수액은 288억8900만원, 매도액은 12억4900만원이다. 순매수액이 276억4000만원으로 지난해 -30억7100만원(매수액 324억1900만원, 매도액 354억9000만원)과 비교하면 307억원 늘었다. 정부의 기업 가치 제고(밸류업) 정책에 발맞춰 자사주 매입을 늘린 영향으로 풀이된다.
2022년부터 올 10월까지 3년 누적 순매수액이 가장 큰 대표이사는 지난해부터 영풍·MBK파트너스 연합과 경영권 분쟁을 벌이고 있는 최윤범 고려아연 회장으로 조사됐다. 최 회장은 지난해 자사주 122억6600만원 어치를 매수했고, 올해 들어서도 지난 3월 대표이사 임기만료 전까지 25억2600만원을 추가 매수해 최근 3년 간 총 147억9200만원의 자사주를 순매수했다.
이어 △현석호 화승인더스트리 대표 80억원 △구자겸 NVH코리아 대표 76억2500만원 △정몽익 KCC글라스 대표 70억9700만원 △원종석 신영증권 대표 51억6400만원 △권혁민 도이치모터스 대표 27억7700만원 △김정남 DB손해보험 대표 23억1200만원 △전성호 솔루엠 대표 19억600만원 △곽정현 KG케미칼 대표 16억3500만원 △유창수 유진증권 대표 14억4600만원의 자사주를 매수했다.
반면, 같은 기간 자사주를 가장 많이 순매도한 대표이사는 함영준 오뚜기 대표(회장)로 나타났다. 함 회장은 2022년 3월 상속세 납부를 위해 오뚜기라면지주에 384억4600만원 규모의 자사주를 매도했다. 그는 고(故) 함태호 오뚜기 명예회장으로부터 물려받은 지분에 대한 상속세로 약 1500억원을 2017년부터 5년에 걸쳐 납부한 바 있다.
함 대표에 이어 올해 3월 사임한 김성권 씨에스윈드 회장이 지난해 7월 자사주 320억2100만원을 매도했고, △최문호 에코프로비엠 대표 18억4000만원 △최경 코스맥스 대표 12억4900만원 △권영수 LG에너지솔루션 전 대표 8억6300만원 △권영식 넷마블 대표 5억8600만원 △김진철 서울도시가스 대표 4억9400만원 △최우철 명신산업 대표가 2억3400만원을 매도했다.
단, 최문호 에코프로비엠 대표와 권영수 LG에너지솔루션 전 대표는 해당 기간 자사주 매입도 함께 진행했다. 이에 따라 최 대표는 총 11억5200만원을 순매도했으며, 권 대표는 총 1억3000만원을 순매수했다.

이어 △전성호 솔루엠 대표 19억600만원 △곽정현 KG케미칼 대표 11억4300만원 △한종희 삼성전자 대표 7억3900만원 △최성안 삼성중공업 대표 5억1200만원 △권혁민 도이치모터스 대표 4억8800만원 △양종희 KB금융그룹 회장 3억8500만원 △이규복 현대글로비스 대표 3억5800만원을 순매수했다.
올해 자사주를 순매도한 대표이사는 최경 코스맥스 대표가 유일했다. 최 대표는 올 3월 선임 후 2개월 만에 자사주 12억4900만원 어치를 매도했다.
한편, 올해 오너 대표의 자사주 매수액은 219억6600만원으로 전문경영인(69억2200만원) 매수액의 3.2배에 달했다. 이는 지난해(2.5배)와 2022년(1.2배)에 비해 높은 수치다.
