당진시는 25일 당진 청년센터 나래에서 충남권 대학교 내 외국인 유학생과 로컬 캐릭터 관련 국내 예비 실무자 30여 명이 참여한 남이흥장군 캐릭터 체험 및 세미나를 개최했다고 밝혔다.
이번 행사에서는 충남정보문화산업진흥원(원장 김곡미)과 협력하여 주식회사 아트뮤(대표 이선혜)가 개발한 남이흥장군 캐릭터의 개발 과정과 사업화 노하우를 공유했다.
특히 ‘캐릭터 키링 만들기’ 체험 행사도 진행되어 참가자들이 직접 캐릭터를 활용한 창작 활동을 경험할 수 있었다.
당진시는 주식회사 아트뮤와 협력하여 앞으로 개발된 남이흥장군 캐릭터를 다양한 기념품 제작과 행사에 활용할 계획이라고 전했다.
이선혜 대표는 “외국인 유학생들이 남이흥장군의 역사적 의미를 생각해 보고, 지역 문화에 대한 이해를 높일 수 있는 특별한 시간이 되었다”라고 말했다.
같은 날 남이흥장군 사당이 위치한 충장사 일원에서는 제34회 남이흥장군문화제가 성황리에 개최되었다.
특히 이괄의 난 진압 400주년을 기념하여, 이괄의 난을 진압한 1등 공신인 장만, 정충신, 남이흥장군의 후손들이 400년 만에 한자리에 모여 큰 화제를 모았다.
이러한 행사들은 지역 역사와 문화를 되새기고, 공동체의 결속력을 강화하는데 중요한 역할을 하고. 남이흥장군 캐릭터가 앞으로도 많은 사람들에게 알려지기를 바란다.
