브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차는 오는 11월 7일부터 8일까지 포시즌스 호텔 서울(서울 종로구 소재)에서 열리는 국제 해킹·보안 컨퍼런스 ‘POC(Power of Community) 2024’에 최대 후원사로 참여한다고 29일 밝혔다.
현대차는 컨퍼런스 기간 중 채용 홍보 부스를 운영해 사이버 보안 조직 직원들이 참가자들과 직접 소통함으로써 현대차 사이버 보안 분야 채용을 적극 홍보한다는 계획이다.
현대차는 최대 후원사로 참여함에 따라 행사장 중앙에 채용 홍보 부스를 운영하고 포토월을 설치한다.
현대차의 이번 후원은 POC 2024 참여 회사 중 유일한 자동차 회사이자, 글로벌 자동차 회사 최초의 POC 최대 후원사 참여라는 의의가 있다
전세계적으로 사이버 보안에 대한 중요성이 커지고 있는 만큼, 현대차는 POC 2024 참여를 통해 사이버 보안에 대한 의지와 역량을 강화하고 우수 인재를 채용할 것으로 기대한다.
POC는 POC Security가 우리나라 사이버 보안 역량을 높이기 위해 2006년부터 매년 주최하는 국제 해킹·보안 컨퍼런스로 국내외 사이버 보안 연구원과 기업이 해킹 보안 기술 및 연구 내용을 공유하는 자리다.
지난해 열린 POC 2023에서는 전세계 17개국에서 약 350명이 참가해 16개의 주제를 다뤘다.
올해는 더 많은 글로벌 국가의 인재들이 참석할 것으로 예상되며 브라우저, 운영체제, 가상화, 모바일, 블록체인, AI 등 다양한 분야의 17개 주제를 다룰 예정이다.
현대차 관계자는 “현대차는 사이버 보안 강화를 위해 직원 역량 향상 및 우수 인재 채용에 적극 노력하고 있다”며 “POC 2024에 최대 후원사로 참여함에 따라 국내외 우수 인재들에게 현대차 사이버 보안의 비전을 널리 알릴 수 있을 것이다”고 말했다.
이어 “현대차 사이버 보안 조직은 자동차, 앱, 웹, 공장, 서버, 클라우드 등 다양한 제품군에 대한 보안 업무 경험을 쌓을 수 있다는 장점이 있다”며 “적극적인 사이버 보안 선행 기술연구와 해커 친화적인 문화를 통해 사이버 보안 업계 인재들을 적극 영입할 것이다”고 덧붙였다.
한편, POC 2024에는 미국 종합 인터넷 플랫폼 ‘아마존 닷컴(Amazon)’, 미국 보안업체 ‘코렐리움(Corellium)’, 독일 보안업체 ‘바이너리 개코(Binary Gecko)’, 미국 보안업체 트랜첸트(Trenchant), 미국 종합 IT기업 메타(Meta), 싱가포르 보안 커뮤니티 신콘(Sincon) 등이 후원사로 참여한다.
