윤석열 대통령이 7일 "모든 게 제 불찰이고 부덕 소치"라며 "국민 여러분께 죄송하다는 말씀 진심 어린 사과 말씀을 드린다"고 밝혔다.
윤 대통령은 임기 반환점(10일)에 앞선 이날 오전 용산 대통령실에서 대국민 담화를 통해 이같이 밝힌 후 단상 옆으로 가 고개를 숙였다.
그러면서 "국민 여러분 보시기엔 부족함이 많겠지만 제 진심은 늘 국민 곁에 있었다"면서도 "제 노력과는 별개로 국민께 걱정을 끼쳐드린 일들이 있다"고 말했다.
이어 "민생·대한민국 미래를 위해 시작한 일들이 국민 여러분께 불편을 드리기도 했고 제 주변 일로 국민께 염려를 드리기도 했다"며 "대통령은 변명하는 자리가 아니라고 생각한다"고 말했다.
더불어 "앞으로 챙겨보고 또 살펴 국민 여러분께 불편·걱정드리는 일이 없도록 하겠다"고 덧붙였다.
