7일, 대통령 직속 지방시대위원회 주관 ‘2024년도 균형발전사업 우수사례 시상식’에서 세종시가 최우수 지자체와 우수사례에 각각 선정되며 3년 연속 2관왕에 올랐다고 밝혔다.
지방시대위원회는 지역균형발전특별회계로 지원한 사업 중 우수사례를 선정하기 위해 매년 평가를 진행하고 있다.
올해는 시도평가·지역자율계정·지역지원계정 부문 등에서 총 31건의 우수사례를 선발·시상했다.
이번 평가에서 세종시는 3년 연속 최우수 지자체에 오른 데 이어 지역자율계정 부문에서 옛 연동면사무소 활용 문화재생사업이 우수사례로 뽑혔다.
지역자율계정 부문에서 우수사례로 선정된 옛 연동면사무소 활용 문화재생사업은 옛 면사무소를 연동문화발전소로 탈바꿈시키고 지역민과 예술인을 위한 문화공간으로 조성한 사업이다.
이 사업은 주민 만족도 제고, 지역 이미지 개선, 지역 간 격차 해소 등에 기여했다는 평가를 받았다.
특히 시설 조성 과정부터 예술인과 주민들의 적극적인 참여로 주민들의 의식변화, 마을활력 증진 등 마을재생사업의 효과를 극대화했다는 점에서 높은 점수를 받았다.
또 시도평가 부문에서 체계적인 성과관리와 모니터링 체계를 구축하고 객관적·효율적인 자체평가위원회를 구성·운영한 공로로 지난 2020년에 이어 2022년부터 2024년까지 3년 연속 최우수 지자체에 선정됐다.
한편 대통령 직속 지방시대위원회는 우수사례로 꼽힌 기관·개인에게 표창을 수여하고 우수사례집을 발간해 전국에 배포할 계획이다.
