브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 현대자동차가 교통사고 피해 가정 유자녀 지원을 적극 이어간다.
현대차는 지난 12일 현대차 강남대로 사옥에서 현대차 김승찬 판매사업부장, 한국교통안전공단 장찬옥 교통안전본부장 등 주요 관계자가 참석한 가운데 ‘교통사고 유자녀 장학금 전달식’을 가졌다고 13일 밝혔다.
현대차는 전달식에서 고객 감사 행사와 연계한 기부를 통해 모은 기부금 1억 원을 한국교통안전공단 교통사고 피해자지원 희망봉사단 VORA에 전달했다.
현대차는 10월 한 달 동안 누적 차량 생산 1억 대 달성 기념 ‘베스트 셀링카 특별할인’을 실시하고, 1억 대 생산의 발판이 된 인기 차량 3종(쏘나타, 그랜저, 싼타페) 총 1000대를 대상으로 200만 원의 할인 혜택을 제공했다. 차량 1대 판매 당 10만 원을 적립해 기부금 1억 원을 마련했다.
한국교통안전공단은 기부금으로 대학교(전문대 포함) 정규학기에 재학 중인 자동차 사고 피해 가족의 본인 또는 유자녀 50명을 선정해 1인당 200만 원의 학업장려금을 지원할 계획이다.
한편, 2021년부터 매년 교통사고 피해 소외계층을 돕기 위해 한국교통안전공단에 후원금을 전달해온 현대차는 누적 차량 생산 1억 대 달성 기념 고객 감사 행사와 연계한 기부 프로모션을 통해 올해도 교통사고 유자녀를 위한 지원을 이어가게 됐다.
현대차 관계자는 “누적 차량 생산 1억 대를 기념하고 고객들에게 감사를 전하기 위해 이번 기부 프로모션을 진행하게 됐다”며 “앞으로도 교통사고 유자녀뿐만 아니라 우리 사회의 소외된 이웃들에게 도움이 될 수 있는 다양한 나눔 활동을 지속해 나갈 것이다”고 말했다.
