경주시, 북천 가동보 3개소 친수환경 조성...APEC 대비 미관 개선

시에 따르면 가동보는 동천동 알천교 인근 북천 구간에 설치되며, 내년 6월 준공을 목표로 지난 9월부터 착공에 들어갔다.

사업비는 60억원이 투입되며, 가동보 3개소, 퇴적토 준설, 하루 5만 톤 용량의 용수 공급시설 설치로 상시 유지수 확보 및 깨끗한 하천 환경을 조성할 계획이다.

이를 통해 APEC 정상회의를 위한 도시의 첫인상 제고와 더불어 주민들이 강물을 가까이서 즐길 수 있는 친수공간을 마련할 방침이다.

경주시는 지난 9월 북천 그라운드 골프장 앞에 첫 가동보를 착공했으며, 11월 중으로 추가 가동보 설치를 위한 기본 조사와 설계를 발주할 예정이다.

내년 1월부터 가동보 2개소 공사에 본격 나서며, APEC 정상회의를 위한 조치인 만큼 6월 준공을 목표로 차질 없이 진행할 계획이다.

Mayor Joo Nak-young of Gyeongju said, “Our main goal is to improve the city’s image and strengthen the environmental management of Bukcheon while preparing for international events such as the APEC Summit,” and emphasized, “We expect this movable dam installation and maintenance water acquisition project to transform the city into a water-friendly city with flowing river water.”
