논산시(시장 백성현)는 변화하는 농업여건에 대응하기 위한 핵심 기술 전수를 위해 지난 20일 관내농업인 150여명이 참석한 가운데 ‘기후변화 대응 논산지역 고품질 수박 재배기술 전략교육’을 처음 실시했다고 밝혔다.
이번 교육은 2025년 새해농업인실용교육의 일환으로 농업인의 수요를 반영하고 논산지역 수박 영농 시기에 맞춰 11월에 실시하게 됐다.
수박재배는 12월~ 1월에 걸쳐 정식이 이루어지는데, 11월부터 시설하우스 토양관리가 시작되는 특성에 맞게 교육시기를 편성하였으며, 전년도 농사에 대한 성과분석을 통해 올해 농사를 새롭게 설계하고, 기본에 충실하며 위험도를 줄이는 고품질 수박 재배기술 교육으로 진행하였다.
오랜경험과 노하우를 겸비한 김태일 박사(前 충북농업기술원 수박연구소)와 박고수 채소특작팀장이 강사로 나서 논산지역의 특성에 맞는 재배기술 및 유의사항과 성공적인 고품질 수박재배 전략을 집중적으로 교육했다.
한편, 매년 진행되는 2025년 농업인 실용교육은 ▲이통장, ▲벼, ▲딸기, ▲고추, ▲상추, ▲과수반(복숭아, 사과, 배, 포도)등으로 나눠 1월초에 진행될 예정이며, 농업인의 교육 수요를 반영하여 품목별 농업인 상설교육도 실시할 계획이다.
