학생의 적성과 진로에 따라 특정 과목만을 선택해 배울수 있는 캠퍼스형 고등학교가 내년 3월 세종에 문을 연다.
최교진 세종시교육감은 25일 오후 '세종캠퍼스고교’ 개교와 관련 기자회견을 갖고 교육과정을 담은 운영계획에 대해 발표했다.
운영 계획을 보면 세종캠퍼스고는 사회 중점(6학급), 미술 중점(2학급), 체육 중점(2학급), 과학 중점(6학급) 등 4개 분야 교과 중점 과정을 운영하는 것이 특징이다. 2학년부터 4학기 동안에는 두 과목 이상을 융합한 교육과정을 이수할 수 있도록 했다.
4개 분야 중 사회·국제 과정은 사회과학·지리·문화·언어 등의 교육 과정을 미술 과정은 전문적 미술 심화 교육으로 편성했다.
체육 과정에서는 체육 관련 깊이 있는 교과목을 과학·정보 과정은 이공계열의 세부 전공과 심화 과목까지 학습할 수 있도록 편성했다.
교육과정 연속성 확보와 심화 학습 제공을 위해 '세종캠퍼스고'는 고등학교와 대학교, 지역사회가 연계된 지역 특화형 교육과정도 운영된다.

세종교육청은 관내 4개 대학의 인적·물적 자원을 활용해 캠퍼스고등학교를 지역 대학 협약·위탁형 자율형 공립고로 운영한다.
이를 위해 고려대 세종캠퍼스 공공정책대학, 홍익대 세종캠퍼스 조형미술대학, 공주대 간호보건대학 등 6개 단과대학과 4개의 교과 중점별 교육과정을 연계하기 위한 협약을 체결했다. 여기에 온세종학교(온라인학교)를 품은 공동교육과정 거점센터 기능도 수행하게 된다.
세종캠퍼스고는 원형 건물을 중심으로 창제동, 정음동, 훈민동으로 조성됐다. 지능형 과학실과 첨단과학실 등이 들어서는 창제동에선 과학 중심의 교육과정이 이뤄지고, 미술실과 GX룸을 갖춘 정음동에선 미술과 체육 중점 교육이 이뤄진다.
사회 중점 교육이 이뤄지는 훈민동 1, 2층에는 4개(사회, 미술, 체육, 과학) 분야 교과 중점과정의 허브 역할을 할 융합교육 배움터(도서관)가 자리를 잡고, 모든 층에는 다양한 정보와 사람들이 만나 교류하면서 협업할 수 있는 공간이 배치됐다.
최교진 교육감은 “ 세종캠퍼스고등학교가 탐구적 질문을 하는 사람 ,도전하는 사람 ,협력적 소통을 할 줄 아는 사람 ,공존하는 사람 ,창의적·융합적 사고를 하는 사람을 길러내기 위한 학교이자, ‘창의적인 인간, 행동하는 시민’을 길러내는 인재 양성의 요람이 되도록 하겠다"고 말했다.
