이날 시의회 본회의장에서 열린 제287회 제2차 정례회에서 주 시장은 “올해 유난히도 무더운 날씨와 불안정한 국제정세 속에서도 시민 모두가 하나가 돼 어려움을 이겨낸 결과 2025년 APEC 정상회의라는 최대의 성과를 이뤄냈다”고 언급했다.
또 “내년도 예산안은 재정의 낭비적인 요소들을 최대한 배제하고, 꼭 필요한 분야에 효과를 얻기 위해 면밀히 분석한 결과 지방채 발행 없이 올해 본예산 대비 1250억 원(6.5%)이 증가한 2조 250억 원의 예산을 편성했다”고 설명했다.
이어 6개 중점 분야별로 시정 운영 청사진을 제시했다.
첫째, 역대 가장 성공적인 2025년 APEC 정상회의 개최로 대한민국을 넘어 경주가 세계로 도약하는 계기로 만들 계획이다. 이를 위해 정상회의장, 미디어센터, 전시장·만찬장 건립 등 완벽한 기반 시설을 조성하고 Post APEC 기념공원과 기념숲 조성까지 모든 행정력을 집중할 예정이다.
둘째, 경주다움을 진화·발전시켜 지역 역사와 문화를 K-컬처의 대명사로 만든다. 신라왕경디지털복원과 신라왕경 14개 핵심유적 복원·정비 사업을 속도감 있게 추진하고라원(제2동궁원), 문무대왕해양역사관, 세계유산탐방거점센터 등 역사·생태 자원을 활용한 관광자원을 확대해 나갈 방침이다.
셋째, 민생 안정과 미래를 대비하는 성장을 멈추지 않는다. 중심상권 르네상스 추진과 중소기업·소상공인을 위한 맞춤형 지원은 물론 e-모빌리티 연구단지 조성, 미래자동차 스마트 유틸리티 기반 구축 등으로 미래자동차 산업 혁신 생태계를 이끈다.
넷째, 최첨단 과학영농과 신기술 보급으로 풍요로운 농어촌으로 거듭난다. 과학영농의 집약시설인 신농업혁신타운이 내년 준공될 예정이며, 어촌 신활력 증진사업과 감포항 100년 기념사업 등으로 동해안 최고 미항으로 새롭게 도약한다.
다섯째, 편리한 교통, 빈틈없는 재해예방, 녹색 경주로 도시경쟁력을 차별화한다. 문화관광 통합환승주차장, 안강·외동읍 화물자동차 공영차고지 확보로 주차 환경을 개선함과 동시에 신라왕경숲, 황성공원 제모습 찾기, 둘레길 조성 등으로 쾌적한 녹지공간 창출에도 힘을 쏟는다.
마지막으로 사회적 약자 보호와 경주형 인구정책을 펼친다. 찾아가는 행복 설계사, 외국인 도움센터 운영, 70세 이상 어르신 시내버스 무료 추진 등으로 사회적 약자를 위한 복지를 최우선으로 실행한다.
