금산군 '신안사 칠층석탑', 충남도 문화유산자료 지정돼

금산군이 2일 제원면 전통사찰인 신안사에서 소장하고 있는 '금산 신안사 칠층석탑'의 충남도 문화유산자료 지정을 알렸다.

부분적으로 고려 석탑의 양식을 갖추고 있는 신안사 칠층석탑은 기단석 연판문의 조각 수법, 옥개석 등의 양식을 통해 추정해 보았을 때, 조선시대에 건립된 것으로 파악된다.

특히, 석탑의 조형과 조각 수법이 뛰어나고 조선시대에도 꾸준히 석탑이 건립되고 있음을 보여주는 사례로 가치가 인정되며 충남지역에 조선시대 석탑의 보존 사례가 드물어 해당 석탑 보호를 위해 문화유산자료 지정이 결정됐다.

군은 금산 신안사 칠층석탑뿐 아니라 올해 4월에도 금산 영천암 무량수각의 충남도 유형문화유산 지정되도록 하는 등 지역 내 비지정 국가유산이 충남도 국가유산으로 지정될 수 있도록 노력을 기울이고 있다.

군 관계자는 “금산 영천암 무량수각, 금산 신안사 칠층석탑 등 지역의 문화유산이 충남도 지정 문화유산으로 보호받게 됐다”며 “이를 통해 금산지역의 찬란한 불교문화유산의 우수성을 대내외에 알릴 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
