제2회 발달장애 아티스트 특별전 ‘공감’이 12월 13일부터 내년 1월 31일까지 약 2개월 동안 대전 신세계 Art&Science 아쿠아리움에서 개최된다.
이번 전시회는 2년 만에 다시 열리는 행사로 대전 유성구 드림아동청소년발달센터 ‘도넛박스’ 그룹 소속 발달장애 작가 13명이 작업한 80여 점의 작품들을 관람객들에게 선보인다.
만 11세부터 25세까지 다양한 연령대 작가들이 그린 작품들과 가족의 응원 편지가 함께 아쿠아리움 곳곳에 전시되며, 수중 생물과 예술 작품의 신비롭고 아름다운 ‘조화’는 관람객들에게 사랑과 색다른 감동을 선사할 것으로 기대를 모은다.
또한, 이번 특별전 ‘공감’은 발달장애 작가들의 예술적 재능을 관람객들 누구나 무료로 자유롭게 공감할 수 있는 기회인 동시에 발달장애에 대한 이해의 폭을 넓히는 인식 개선의 장이 될 것으로 전망된다.

아쿠아리움 관계자는 “발달장애 작가들의 독특한 감각과 감성이 담긴 작품들로 많은 시민들이 새로운 시각과 감동을 얻게 되길 바란다” 면서, “연말 전시를 매년 지속할 계획이며, 더욱 많은 작가들이 참여할 수 있는 기회가 될 수 있도록 노력할 것”이라고 말했다.
이어 “신세계 Art&Science 아쿠아리움은 지역 내 취약계층을 위해 다양한 행사 개최 및 지원을 아끼지 않고 있다”고 전했다.
한편, 오늘 13일에는 발달장애 작가와 가족이 함께하는 개회식이 진행됐으며 전시회 기간 동안 ‘크리스마스 특별 공연’, ‘겨울 포토존’ 등 따뜻한 연말 분위기를 만끽할 수 있는 다양한 이벤트도 함께 마련돼 있다.
