경주시, 道 저출생 극복 ‘우수상’ 수상

저출생 극복 우수시군 평가는 경북 도내 22개 시·군을 대상으로 만남, 임신·출산, 돌봄, 양성평등, 주거, 일·생활 균형 등 6대 분야 13개 지표를 비롯해 시군 저출생 극복 추진 보고를 검토해 선정한다.

경주시는 올해 초 경북도의 저출생과의 전쟁 선포에 발맞춰 지난 4월 ‘2024 경주형 저출생과 전쟁 종합대책’을 수립해 인구 감소 완화와 미래 인구 구조 변화에 대응할 63개 사업에 791억원의 투자계획을 발표했다.

또 5월에는 저출생 위기 극복에 시민들의 실천 의지를 하나로 모으기 위해 4개 반 30개 단체로 구성된 저출생 대책 시민운동본부 출범식을 가졌다.

특히 저출생 문제 극복과 24시간 안전한 분만 환경 조성을 위해 맘존여성병원과 협약해 매월 1250만 원의 산부인과 전문의 1명 인건비를 협약 해지 시까지 지원하는 사업은 큰 호평을 얻었다.

더불어 경주형 민관산후조리원 지원 및 다함께 돌봄센터·공동육아나눔터 등의 연장 운영과 임신에서 출산, 양육까지 맞춤형 인프라 확충 등은 높은 평가를 받았다.

주낙영 경주시장은 “저출생 문제는 단기적인 성과를 넘어 지속적이고 체계적인 정책이 필요하다”라며 “우리시는 앞으로도 지역 실정에 맞춘 특화된 시책추진으로 저출생 위기 상황에 적극 대응하겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다.
