대전과기대, ESG와 함께하는 '크리스마스 트리' 나눔

대전과학기술대학교(총장 이효인/ 이하 대전과기대) 평생교육원은 지난 20일 교내 평생교육원 라이프롱 에듀케이션 센터에서 지역 주민들과 함께하는 평생교육 프로그램 'ESG와 함께하는 크리스마스 트리 나눔 클래스'를 큰 호응 속에 마쳤다고 23일 밝혔다.

이번 행사는 대학의 건학이념과 ESG 경영 가치를 연계하여 지역사회와의 상생실현, 소외계층에 대한 포용적 가치실천, 함께 행복한 사회 조성을 위한 나눔 문화를 확산시키기 위해 마련됐다.

나눔 클래스에는 지역주민과 대전과기대 성인학습자들이 참여하여 단순히 배우는 것을 넘어 직접 나눔에 동참하는 매우 뜻깊은 시간을 보냈다.

참여자들은 ESG 마인드 특강을 듣고, 직접 자연소재의 친환경 재료를 활용해 크리스마스 미니 트리를 제작하며, 기후위기와 지속가능한 환경보호 실천의 중요성을 다시 한번 깨닫는 시간을 가졌다.

또한, 제작된 트리는 대학과 지자체, 지역주민 간 협력을 통한 연대감 강화 및 재능기부 봉사 실천을 위해 복수동행정복지센터(동장 김영란)에 전부 기부해 관내 한부모 가정, 조손가정 등에 전달했다.

기부를 받은 관내 한부모 가정에서는 "예쁜 트리를 받으니 따뜻한 연말 분위기를 느낄 수 있어 감사하다"며 고마움을 전해왔다.

양진영 평생교육원장은 "ESG의 가치를 지역사회와 함께 실천하며 소외계층에게 정서적 안정감과 유대감을 제공하고, 모두가 행복한 연말을 보낼 수 있는 계기가 됐으면 좋겠다는 소망으로 이 행사를 기획했다"면서, “대학의 건학이념 구현과 ESG 경영가치를 실천하는 다양한 프로그램을 지속적으로 추진할 계획“이라고 전했다.
