[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창군은 문화체육관광부가 선정하는 자전거 자유여행 대표코스 60선에 ‘거창 황강 자전거길’ 이 선정됐다고 24일 밝혔다.

문화체육관광부는 기존 자전거길에서 인근 지역 관광지로 연결되는 코스를 발굴해 자전거 이용인구를 지역관광자원과 연계하고자 전국의 자전거 코스 60개를 선정했으며 ‘거창 황강 자전거길’ 이 최종 선정됐다.

‘거창 황강 자전거길’은 거창스포츠파크와 거창창포원을 연결해 약 6km에 걸쳐 조성된 자전거길로 황강변을 따라 이어진 아름다운 수변 경관과 국내 최고의 생태정원인 창포원을 함께 감상할 수 있는 자연 친화형 자전거 코스다.

거창창포원뿐만 아니라 거창스포츠파크, 심소정, 거창생태공원, 양항제 생태습지원 등 주변 관광지도 함께 체험하고 즐길 수 있어 군민들로부터 산책, 자전거 코스로 인기가 높으며 매년 9월경 열리는 거창한마당대축제에서 ‘자전거 투어 창포원 소풍’ 행사의 코스로도 이용되고 있다.
