대통령실이 29일 전남 무안국제공항에서 발생한 여객기 추락 사고 대응 긴급수석회의를 열고 최상목 대통령 권한대행 부총리 겸 기획재정부 장관에 보고 후 본격 사고 수습에 총력을 기울이고 있다.
대통령실에 따르면 이날 오전 11시 30분께 용산 대통령실에서 정진석 대통령 비서실장 주재로 긴급수석비서관회의를 열고 그 결과를 최 대행에게 보고했다.
대통령실은 사고 직후 국정상황실로부터 관련 내용을 보고받은 후 이어진 수석회의에서 사고 수습 방안 등 관련 논의를 나눈 것으로 알려졌다.

소방청에 따르면 이날 오전 9시 3분깨 181명이 탑승한 방콕발 제주항공 여객기가 무안국제공항 활주로 착륙 과정서 폭발 사고가 일어난 가운데 방콕에서 출발해 오전 8시 30분 무안국제공항에 도착 예정이었던 제주항공 7C2216편 여객기다.
소방청은 이날 오후 1시 56분 기준 96명이 사망하고 2명이 구조됐다고 발표한 가운데 1명은 신원 확인 불가로 집계됐고 사망자는 남성 47명, 여성 48명이다.
최 권한대행은 이날 오후 12시 55분개 무안국제공항 사고현장을 들른 후 무안군청에서 2차 중앙재난안전대책본부 회의를 주재하고 "전남 무안공항 활주로 사고로 많은 사상자가 발생한 점에 깊은 애도를 표한다"며 "무안을 특별재난지역으로 선포한다"고 밝혔다.
