애경그룹은 장영신 회장 및 임직원 일동의 공개사과문을 통해 “이번 사고로 희생되신 분들께 비통한 심정으로 애도와 조의의 말씀을 드린다”며 “유가족 분들께 진심으로 사죄드린다. 충격과 아픔을 함께 겪고 계신 국민 여러분들께도 사죄드린다”고 밝혔다.
