브레이크뉴스 문홍철 기자= 국토교통부 대도시권광역교통위원회는 K-패스의 혜택을 확대해 국민들의 대중교통비 부담을 더욱 완화한다고 2일 밝혔다.
이를 위해 올해부터 K-패스에 다자녀 가구 유형을 신설하고, 참여 지자체 및 카드사도 추가한다.
K-패스는 월 15회 이상 정기적으로 대중교통을 이용할 경우, 월 최대 60회(일 최대 2회)까지 지출금액의 일정 비율(일반인 20%, 청년층 30%, 저소득층 53.3%)을 다음 달에 돌려받을 수 있는 교통카드다.
작년 5월부터 시행한 K-패스는 국민들의 높은 호응에 힘 입어 2024년말 기준 약 265만명이 이용 중이다.
올해부터 기존 일반, 청년, 저소득층에 더해 K-패스 내 ‘다자녀 가구’ 유형을 신설, 별도의 환급률을 적용해 혜택을 확대한다.
다자녀 가구 유형에 해당하는 자는 총 자녀가 2명 이상이며, 그 중 1명 이상이 만 18세 이하인 성인(부모만 해당)이다.
다자녀 유형의 환급률은 자녀가 2명인 경우 30%, 자녀가 3명 이상인 경우 50%로, 일반층 대비 각각 10%p, 30%p 높은 환급률이 적용된다.
일례로, 자녀가 3명 이상인 이용자 A씨(만 40세)가 요금 1500원인 대중교통 60회를 탑승할 경우, 다자녀 유형 신설 전후 2만7000원이 추가 환급된다.
다자녀 가구 유형에 해당하는 이용자는 K-패스 앱·누리집 등의 ‘My 메뉴 – 다자녀 정보’에서 실시간 검증으로 해당 유형임을 인증한 뒤 환급률 상향을 신청할 수 있다.

아울러 올해부터 K-패스 참여 지자체는 기존 189개 기초 지자체에서 21개 지자체(김제, 문경, 속초 등)가 추가 참여해 210개 기초 지자체로 확대된다.
또한, K패스-경기(The경기패스), K패스-인천(인천I-패스) 등에 이어 광주광역시, 경상남도도 올해부터 지자체 맞춤형 K-패스를 시행해 지역별 혜택을 확대한다.
K-패스 참여 카드사도 기존 11개 카드사에서 13개 카드사로 확대, 이용자들이 선택할 수 있는 카드도 5종 추가될(27종 → 32종) 예정이다.
