[브레이크뉴스=주윤한 기자] 거창경찰서 김민준 서장이 거창군 새해 ‘전입 1호’로 2일 전입신고를 했다.
김민준 서장은 경찰대학교 5기 출신으로 부산청 안보수사과장, 경남청 경비과장·안보수사과장 등을 역임 후 73대 거창경찰서장으로 부임했다.
김 서장은 "지역사회 치안의 책임자로서 거창군 발전에 직접적으로 기여하고 지역소멸 위기 속 인구 증가에 조금이나마 보탬이 되고자 전입을 결정했다"고 전했다.
거창군은 국가적인 인구감소 문제에 대응하기 위해 2024년 1월 ‘거창군 새로운 인구정책’을 발표한 데 이어 11월에는 ‘거창군 생활인구 100만 달성 로드맵’을 수립하며 군 인구의 양적·질적 성장을 위해 다양한 인구정책을 추진하고 있다.
이번 경찰서장의 전입은 군민들에게 지역에 대한 자부심과 더불어 인구 유입 촉진 등 인구 증가 정책에도 긍정적 분위기를 조성할 것으로 기대된다.
구인모 거창군수는 “김민준 거창경찰서장의 전입을 진심으로 환영하며 이번 전입으로 거창군이 살기 좋고 안전한 도시로서 든든한 이미지를 구축함과 동시에 지역의 매력을 알리는 계기가 될 것이다. 앞으로도 거창군이 더욱더 살기 좋은 지역으로 자리매김할 수 있도록 다각적인 인구 증가 시책과 지원을 펼쳐 나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
