진주시, 국립원예원 진양호 유역 친환경 스마트팜 조성 업무협약

[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 전북 완주시에 있는 국립원예특작과학원(이하·국립원예원)과 진주시청 기업인의 방에서 ‘진양호 유역 친환경 스마트팜 조성’을 위한 업무협약을 체결했다고 15일 밝혔다.

이번 협약은 진양호 상류지역의 대단위 딸기 시설재배단지에서 발생되는 폐양액(廢養液)을 친환경적으로 처리하기 위해 진행됐다.

진주시는 지난해부터 시행하고 있는 폐양액 처리시설을 확대하고, 국립원예원은 그동안 연구·축적된 폐양액의 재사용·재활용 기술을 현장에 보급하며 기술 제안도 함께할 계획이다.

두 기관은 협약식을 통해 야생동물 특별보호구역인 진양호의 오염을 줄이기 위한 상호 협력체계를 강화하고, 향후 양액의 재활용을 통해 농민들의 비료 비용 절감도 기대하고 있다.

진주시와 관계자는 “이번 협약이 지역 물 환경을 개선하고 지속 가능한 농업 발전을 이루는 데 큰 역할을 할 것이다”며“친환경 농업의 선도 모델을 구축하기 위해 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
