윤석열 대통령이 10일 국민의힘 의원들을 접견하고 "국민들 특히 청년들이 '나라의 주인'이란 의식을 강하게 갖고 있다는 소식을 들어 다행으로 생각한다"고 밝혔다.
윤 대통령은 이날 오전 경기 의왕시 서울구치소에서 30분간 국민의힘 김기현 전 대표·추경호 전 원내대표·이철규·정점식·박성민 의원 등을 접견한 자리에서 이같이 말했다고 김 의원이 전했다.
윤 대통령은 또 "당 지도부는 중앙정부와, 의원·당협위원회는 지방자치단체와 협력해 어려운 분들·자립 청년·영세 자영업자를 잘 챙겨달라"고 당부했다.
그러면서 "당이 자유 수호·주권 회복 의식과 운동을 진정성 있게 뒷받침해주면 국민들 사랑을 받지 않겠나"라고 했다.
이어 "이번 비상계엄 선포는 나라가 여러 위기에 있다는 판단에 의해 이뤄진 것"이라며 "헌법·절차 범위 내에서 모든 게 이행됐다"고 했다.
김 의원은 "대통령이 비상계엄을 선포할 수밖에 없었던 사정을 많은 국민들이 공감하고 있다는 뜻을 전달했다"며 "윤 대통령은 '잘 지내고 있으니 걱정말라'고 말했다"고 전했다.
또 헌법 재판소 탄핵 심판 관련해선 "여러 말씀이 있었지만 요약해 말할 상황은 아닌 것 같다"고 했다.
