브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 스카이스캐너가 20% 이상 가격이 하락한 항공권을 찾아주는 앱 전용 기능 'DROPS(드롭스)'를 출시했다.
드롭스 기능은 지난 7일 대비 20% 이상 가격이 하락한 항공권을 매일 자동으로 확인해준다.
사용법은 스카이스캐너 앱 메인 화면 하단의 ‘DROPS’ 탭을 눌러 쉽고 간편하게 최적의 여행 상품을 발견할 수 있다.
스카이스캐너는 지난 1월 한 달 동안 시범적으로 제공된 ‘DROPS 데이터’ 분석 결과도 함께 공개했다.
지난 한 달간 가장 많은 ‘DROPS’를 기록한 여행지는 접근성이 좋은 인기 근거리 여행지들이었다.
일본 도쿄가 1위는 기록했고 그 뒤를 제주, 방콕, 후쿠오카, 다낭, 오사카, 삿포르, 나타랑, 세부, 타이베이 등의 도시가 이름을 올렸다.
이어 'DROPS’가 가장 많이 표시되는 요일은 토요일이었다. 고된 주중 일정을 마친 한국 여행객을 위해 드롭스 항공편이 가장 많이 표시된 요일은 주말인 토요일이었던 것.
아울러 일찍 일어나는 새가 더 가성비 있게 여행을 떠나는 법이다. 전체 ‘DROPS’의 38%는 오전 9시 이전에 표시됐다.
또한 가격이 가장 많이 하락한 여행지는 스페인 바르셀로나 항공권이었다.
1월 한 달 동안 ‘DROPS’를 통해 한국인 여행객들은 평균 18만여원을 절감했는데, 스페인 바르셀로나는 평균 90만5513원으로 가장 높은 평균 절감액을 기록했다.
이어 호주 시드니가 56만3673원, 미국 로스앤젤레스 53만2761원, 프랑스 파리 49만4577원, 미국 뉴욕 39만4571원으로, 항공권 가격 부담을 상당히 낮춰줬다.
