새만금과 부안을 중심으로 한 크루즈산업 활성화를 위한 첫걸음을 내딛었다.
전북자치도는 28일 도청 영상회의실에서 '제1대 전북특별자치도 크루즈산업 발전위원회 위촉식'을 개최했다.
위원회는 당연직(경제부지사ㆍ새만금해양수산국장) 2명과 크루즈산업 전문가 등 위촉직 11명으로 구성됐다.
임기는 2027년 2월 27일까지 2년으로 1차례 연임 가능하고 크루즈산업 관련 심의 및 자문 역할을 맡는다.
먼저, 2026년 새만금 신항만 개항을 목표로 크루즈선 유치 작업을 본격화한다.
새만금개발청과 협력해 크루즈산업 활성화와 기반 시설 조성 방안 등을 담은 연구용역을 공동 추진하고 이를 바탕으로 크루즈 선사와 여행사를 대상으로 적극적인 유치 활동을 전개할 예정이다.
특히, 지난해 11월 새만금 신항만 크루즈산업 활성화를 위해 새만금개발청ㆍ전북자치도ㆍ군산지방해양수산청ㆍ세관ㆍ출입국ㆍ검역 관련기관 등 8개 기관과 업무협약(MOU) 체결하고 TF팀을 구성, 발전 기반 구축을 위한 논의를 지속적으로 추진한다.
