【브레이크뉴스 경주】박희경 기자=경주시는 올해 여성장애인 복지지원을 더욱 강화하기 위해 신규 사업인 ‘양육서포터즈 운영’을 포함한 다양한 복지 프로그램을 시행한다고 4일 밝혔다.

시는 1천여 명의 여성장애인을 위한 공적 사업으로 △양육서포터즈 △가사도우미 파견 △자립지원사업 △출산비용 지원 등 4개 사업에 연간 1억 8000만원의 예산을 투입할 예정이다.
여성장애인 양육서포터즈는 장애를 가진 부모가 0~5세 자녀를 양육할 수 있도록 지원하는 프로그램이다. 이를 위해 서포터즈 인력을 선발하고 교육하여, 장애인 부모와 서포터즈를 1:1로 매칭하여 양육을 돕는다.
그간 여성장애인들은 임신, 출산, 양육 과정에서 신체적·심리적으로 큰 부담을 느꼈고, 특히 장애 특성에 맞는 특별한 보살핌이 필요했다. 이 사업은 여성장애인들의 양육에 대한 두려움을 덜어주고 실질적인 도움이 될 것으로 기대된다.
여성장애인 가사도우미 파견 사업은 장애인 활동 지원 서비스를 이용하지 못하는 여성장애인의 가사 활동을 지원하여 가사 부담을 경감시킨다. 또한, 일과 양육을 병행하는 여성장애인에게는 사회참여를 촉진하는 중요한 역할을 한다. 올해는 예산을 40% 이상 증액하고 서비스 제공 인력을 추가 선발하여 대상자 수를 확대, 사업을 추진한다.
자립지원사업은 여성장애인의 역량 강화를 위한 다양한 프로그램을 포함하고 있다. 운동 교실, 문화체험 교실, 자격증 취득 과정 등 여가와 경제 활동을 위한 교육과, 고충 청취 및 장애인복지 정보 제공 상담 서비스도 이루어진다.
여성장애인이 아이를 출산할 경우, 태아 1인당 120만원의 출산비용을 지원하는 사업도 포함된다. 지난해에는 7명의 여성장애인이 아이를 출산했으며, 이들의 경제적 부담을 크게 경감시켰다.
주낙영 경주시장은 “여성장애인의 임신, 출산, 양육이 지역사회의 축복이 될 수 있도록 여성장애인에 대한 인식개선에 힘쓰겠다”며, “여성장애인에 특화된 복지서비스를 지속적으로 제공하여 장애 친화적인 도시를 만들기 위해 더욱 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
