브레이크뉴스 최애리 기자= 호텔·리조트 기업 대명소노그룹이 괌을 대표하는 골프장 ‘온워드 망길라오 골프클럽(Onward Mangilao Golf Club)’과 ‘온워드 탈로포포 골프클럽(Onward Talofofo Golf Club)’을 인수했다고 4일 밝혔다.
괌에서 운영되고 있는 다섯 개의 골프장 중 두 곳을 대명소노그룹가 인수한 것이다.
대명소노그룹은 온워드리조트앤골프(Onward RESORT AND GOLF INC.)가 소유한 온워드 망길라오 골프클럽과 온워드 탈로포포 골프클럽을 인수하는 계약을 체결했다.
인수한 두 골프장은 각각 ‘소노펠리체 컨트리클럽 괌 망길라오(SONO Felice Country Club Guam Mangilao)’와 ‘소노펠리체 컨트리클럽 괌 탈로포포(SONO Felice Country Club Guam Talofofo)’의 브랜드로 변경했다.
먼저 소노펠리체 컨트리클럽 괌 망길라오는 괌 동부 해안가에 위치해 있어 태평양을 조망하며 플레이할 수 있는 코스로 명성이 높으며, 괌 안토니오 B. 원 팻 국제공항과도 차량으로 15분 거리에 위치해 접근성도 뛰어나다. 규모는 대지면적 33만평에 18홀 코스를 보유하고 있다.

최근 티웨이항공을 인수한 바 있는 대명소노그룹은 이번 괌 골프장 두 곳의 인수를 통해 해외 사업 포트폴리오를 강화하는 동시에 티웨이항공이 주 7회 운항중인 괌 노선과 골프장을 연계한 상품 개발, 향후 단지내 골프텔 운영 검토 등 골프-항공-숙박을 결합한 시너지 또한 기대하고 있다.
한편 대명소노그룹은 올해 오픈 예정인 ‘쏠비치 남해’를 포함해 국내 20개 호텔·리조트를 운영 중이다.
또 지난 2019년 베트남 ‘소노벨 하이퐁’ 위탁 운영을 시작으로, 2022년에는 미국 워싱턴 DC ‘노르망디 호텔’, 2023년에는 뉴욕 ‘33 시포트 호텔 뉴욕‘, 2024년 프랑스 파리 ‘담 데 자르 호텔’, 하와이 ‘와이키키리조트호텔’을 인수하는 등 해외 진출도 지속적으로 해나가고 있다.
골프장의 경우, 국내에서 3개의 18홀 골프장을 운영중이며 (소노펠리체 컨트리클럽 비발디파크 이스트 및 웨스트, 소노펠리체 컨트리클럽 델피노), 해외에서는 베트남에서 27홀 골프장인 소노펠리체 하이퐁 CC를 위탁 운영중이다. 대명소노그룹이 해외에서 골프장을 직접 운영하는 것은 이번이 처음이다.
