진주시 오는 15일 ‘2025 토요상설 진주민속소힘겨루기’ 개막

[브레이크뉴스=정철규 기자] 진주시는 오는 15일부터 9월까지 매주 토요일 오후 1시30분께 판문동지역 진주민속 소힘겨루기경기장에서 ‘토요상설 진주민속소힘겨루기 경기’를 개최한다고 13일 밝혔다.

이번 토요상설 경기는 진주시에서 주최하고 (사)진주소힘겨루기협회에서 주관하며 전국대회 수상 경력이 있는 소도 일부 참가해 올해 총 20회 열리며 매회 15경기가 벌어진다.

또 행사는 소와 우주(牛主), 관람객 모두를 위한 안전기원제와 소 먹이주기 체험, 투호, 제기차기, 축하공연 등 다양한 부대행사로 관람객들에게 즐거움을 제공할 예정이다.

진주시는 소힘겨루기 발원지로서 지난 2006년에 전국 최초로 소힘겨루기경기장을 건립해 지난 2011년부터 현재까지 매년 토요상설 소힘겨루기 경기를 개최하고 있다.

진주시 관계자는 “봄기운이 만연한 3월에 가족, 연인 등 남녀노소 모두 박진감 넘치는 소의 기운도 받으시고, 소중한 추억을 많이 담아 가시길 바란다”고 말했다.
