브레이크뉴스 정민우 기자= 한국마사회가 말산업 전문인력인 ‘장제사’ 양성을 위해 일반 국민들을 대상으로 ‘2025년 장제교육생’을 모집한다.
‘장제사’는 말의 신발인 편자를 만들어 말발굽을 관리해주는 사람을 말한다. 질병 예방 및 치료를 위해 말산업 현장에서 장제사는 필수적인 인력이라 할 수 있다. 이에 한국마사회는 장제에 관심을 가지고 있는 이들을 대상으로 전문적인 기술을 전수하기 위해 장제 교육 과정을 운영한다.
만 17세 이상이라면 대한민국 국민 누구나 지원 가능하며 장제를 전혀 접해보지 않았어도 신청할 수 있다. 한국마사회 소속 장제사 및 수의사가 교육을 진행하며, 장제 기초이론 및 실무를 배우게 된다.
서류 접수는 오는 25일 오후 6시까지이며, 우편 또는 방문을 통해 신청할 수 있다.
최종 선정된 교육생들은 내달 9일부터 한국마사회 렛츠런파크 서울 내 장제교육센터(말보건처)에서 무상으로 교육 이수할 기회가 주어진다. 안전사고 예방을 위하여 상해보험 가입은 필수이며, 그 외 실습에 필요한 안전용품 및 교보재들은 한국마사회가 제공한다.

한편, 지난 15일 한국마사회 렛츠런파크 서울에서 이틀간 열린 ’2025년 제1회 장제캠프’가 성황리에 막을 내렸다. ‘장제사’ 직업 체험 및 홍보, 그리고 예비 장제 전문인력 발굴을 위해 올해 최초 시행한 이번 캠프는 성별과 세대를 가리지 않고 20대부터 50대까지 남녀노소가 참여하며 많은 관심을 받았다. 장제캠프는 올해 총 4회 운영 예정이며, 4월 중 2회차 참가자를 모집할 예정이다.
