충남 태안군이 ‘2025년 태안 방문의 해’를 기념하여 해양치유 관광도시로의 도약을 위해 도내 3개 대학과 협력하기로 했다.
군은 지난 18일 군청 소회의실에서 가세로 군수와 백석대학교, 청운대학교, 한서대학교 관계자들이 참석한 가운데 교류협력 협약식을 개최했다.
이번 협약은 오는 하반기 개관 예정인 태안해양치유센터의 성공적인 운영을 위한 것으로, 군은 3개 대학과 공동 연구개발 및 인적 교류를 통해 지역 인재 양성에 힘쓸 계획이다.
협약서에 따르면, 양측은 해양치유·문화·생태 자원을 기반으로 한 전문인력 양성, 해양치유 및 레저 관광 분야의 교육·연구 및 인적 교류 확대, ‘태안 방문의 해’를 맞이한 방문 협력을 추진할 예정이다.
군은 이들 대학과 협력하여 지역의 해양치유 및 해양 레저 관광자원을 활용한 로컬 브랜딩, 지역 축제 및 특화 콘텐츠 개발에 힘쓸 계획이다.
또한, 가의도 등 섬 특성화 사업과 연계한 관광 활성화에도 대학의 연구 자원을 적극 활용할 예정이다.
가세로 군수는 “이번 협약은 태안군의 관광 활성화와 지역사회의 인재 양성에 큰 도움이 될 것”이라며, “태안 방문의 해와 해양치유센터의 성공적인 개관을 위해 관계기관과의 협력을 강화하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 태안해양치유센터는 태안의 천연 해양치유자원을 활용한 다양한 프로그램을 운영하는 시설로, 남면 달산포 체육공원 일원에 건립되며, 연면적 8478㎡ 규모로 지하 1층, 지상 2층으로 구성된다. 건축공사가 완료된 후 2개월 간의 시범 운영을 거쳐 하반기 정식 개관할 예정이다.
